Set across 300 acres of rolling hills in Warrenton, Virginia, Airlie isn’t your average hotel—it’s a destination steeped in history, purpose, and connection. The property has hosted defining moments in American history, including early meetings of the NAACP, overnight visits by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and the birthplace of Earth Day with Senator Gaylord Nelson.

Now, General Manager Josh Reichert and his team are writing a new chapter—this time through their commitment to conscious purchasing.

Introducing Impact Through the Guest Experience

When PM/Modus Hotel Group pledged to create 2,000 employment hours through Procure Impact, Airlie became one of the first properties to take action—beginning with something simple yet significant: the minibar.

In honor of Black History Month, the team also transformed the hotel’s lobby tea station, featuring hand-blended teas from My Cup of Tea, a social enterprise on the Procure Impact Marketplace empowering women in Memphis, Tennessee.

“This was an easy way to introduce the products to our guests and help tell their stories through QR codes attached to the pricing guide," Josh explains. "Our guests enjoy learning about the products and companies as they enjoy using the products.

154 Hours of Opportunity—and Counting

Through their everyday purchases on the Procure Impact Marketplace, Airlie has already created over 154 hours of dignified employment for individuals overcoming barriers like homelessness, incarceration, and disability. This milestone was recently recognized with an Impact Award from PM/Modus Hotels.

But for Josh and his team, this is only the beginning:

The guests have enjoyed learning about each of these companies as well as support them with their purchases. It has raised the quality of offerings that Airlie provides and builds on the guest confidence in booking Airlie for their stays, meetings, or events. Airlie continues to look for ways to incorporate Procure Impact into our daily routines and ask ourselves what else we can partner with.”

Tips for Hotels Ready to Start

For fellow hoteliers hoping to turn procurement into purpose, Josh offers two key pieces of advice:

Make sure you share the story. Customers enjoy knowing the story and the impact they are having in the process. Also, look at what you are currently purchasing in your day-to-day operations and work with your account manager to see if it is a product that can be purchased through Procure Impact.

From its historical legacy to its modern-day impact, Airlie proves that where you stay—and what you stock—can shape the future. Guests leave not only inspired by the surroundings, but knowing that their visit contributed to something greater.

Whether you’re curating your mini bar, restocking your hot beverage station, or planning your next event, every product you choose is a chance to reflect your property’s values.

By sourcing through Procure Impact, you’re not just delighting guests—you’re helping create jobs, restore dignity, and fuel second chances.

Let your purchases tell a story of impact—just like Airlie.
